Pilgrims of Hope

Description:
Hope has always been a powerful force in the human experience, from the ancient Greek myth of Pandora to the enduring message of faith. In Pandora’s story, hope remained as the final gift, a light in the darkness. In this year’s Jubilee of Hope, the words of Romans 5:5 remind us to hold on to hope, especially in challenging times.
Art and music allow us to experience hope in its most transformative form. On April 9th at the Mdina Cathedral of St. Paul, "Pilgrims of Hope" will bring this theme to life through a moving concert conducted by Gillian Zammit and directed by Denise Mulholland. This special event, part of the Jubilee of Hope 2025, is a collaboration between the Office of the Archbishop’s Delegate for Culture and the Opera Nova Project, exploring hope through faith and beauty.
The programme includes choral works by John Rutter, Karl Jenkins, and Benjamin Britten. Adult voice students from the Opera Nova Project will join the Opera Nova Project Youth Choir in a celebration of hope as a guiding and eternal force. Through music, we reflect on the resilience of hope, even in the face of hardship, offering a journey of inspiration, renewal, and faith.
This event is supported by the Mdina Metropolitan Chapter.
