With a career spanning over 30 years across diverse media, Joana Vasconcelos is a celebrated Portuguese visual artist known for her monumental sculptures and immersive installations. Her works are featured in prestigious collections, including those of François Pinault, Louis Vuitton, and the Rothschild Foundation, while her public artworks grace iconic locations like Jupiter Artland, the city of Paris, and Waddesdon Manor. She has participated in renowned events such as the São Paulo Biennial, Art Basel, and Artgenève, exhibited four times at the Venice Biennale, and was the first woman and youngest artist to showcase her work at Versailles. Vasconcelos has also held notable solo exhibitions at institutions like the Guggenheim Bilbao, Yorkshire Sculpture Park, and Uffizi Galleries. From her Lisbon-based studio with nearly 60 team members to her foundation promoting art for all, her influence resonates worldwide.
