First Sketches of Tarxien - 110th Anniversary

Calling all artists — whether you’re a seasoned professional or just starting out, young or young at heart — Heritage Malta invites you to a special event on Saturday, 15th March 2025 at the Tarxien Prehistoric Complex, commemorating 110 years since the site’s first sketches, drawn shortly after its discovery in 1915.

What to Expect:

• Create on-site: Capture the beauty and history of this remarkable site with your own artistic touch.
• Art Materials: Bring your own supplies. Dry media is permitted throughout the site, while wet media can be used in a designated area to protect the delicate remains.
• Refreshments: Enjoy complimentary refreshments as you work.
• Exhibition Opportunity: Later in the year, participants will have the chance to showcase their work at Ochre Hall in the Ħaġar Qim and Mnajdra Visitor Centre (subject to agreement).

Event Details:

• Sessions: 9:00 am – 12:00 pm, with two groups of 25 participants each.
• Languages: The event will be conducted in both Maltese and English.
