Walk for Well-being
Description:
The BirdLife Malta Events & Activities Committee will be organising a fundraising nature walk to support the Blooming Minds project – an ecotherapy programme designed by BirdLife Malta and the Richmond Foundation to help people living with mental health problems. This time it won’t be just a hike, but you will also have a chance to experience ecotherapy yourself. BirdLife Malta’s Education Officer Abbie Ferrar will be there to lead an ecotherapy session for you and let you know more about mental self care. Starting from near the Church of St Dominic in Rabat, we will walk to Tal-Virtù Residential Area down to Wied Tal-Isqof. We will pass by the Archbishop’s Palace, up the valley to head near the Chapel of St Nicholas and St Lucy. That will be the place for our ecotherapy session. Then we will walk behind Verdala Palace, down to Buskett and Wied il-Luq. From Buskett we will head to the area near Villa Psaigon and back to our starting point, through country roads. This is a moderate-to-difficult 7km walk with some rough terrain. Appropriate footwear is recommended as the areas we will be visiting can be slippery if wet. Meeting point Our meeting point will be the Church of St Dominic in Rabat. We shall meet in front of the church at 08:30. Price and booking Participation fee is €5 and registration is required. All money raised will go for the Blooming Minds project. Participation is open to all. To book your place click here: https://birdlifemalta.org/product/walk-for-well-being/. Please keep your receipt to show it on the day as proof of payment.
