This unique Holy week exhibition for the Maltese Islands consists of over 180 miniature statues replicas of those of the Spanish cities with particular focus on the Andalusia region especially the cities of Seville and Malaga. The statues which are made by local artists consists of various episodes from the passion of Christ. The main feature that makes this exhibition different is the statues are decorated in fine velvet clothes with elaborated gold and silver embroidery, all handmade to the last detail.
The exhibition is not only about statues but it also features hundreds of photos of the processions in Seville and Malaga, paintings, original costumes, medals and badges. To help the visitors understand better the Spanish Holy week traditions, various features and documentary are shown on big screen throughout the opening hours.
