Blooming

Together for the second time - and again in the beautiful Birgu Local Council - Ro Art and JAD work on the idea of the blooming. Something more than the representation or the much awaited spring, Blooming is a lively reflection on the strength and plenitude of life, with the vivid colors and rich shapes of the ceramics and the light transparencies of the jewels. Robbie Mazzaro is a Ceramic Artist living in Malta since 4 1/2 years. She was born in Venezuela and lived in Italy for 20 years. Her passion for Art started at a young age. In 2012 while living in Rome, she attended a Ceramic Masterclass and discovered her artistic medium, that allowed her to fully capture and express herself creatively. She left her career in a commercial sector and dedicated herself solely to ceramics, in love with the versatility of the clay and all the creative process. Her inspirations have come from nature itself. She has been fascinated by the complex and beautiful natural structures and textures found in plants, bark, seed pods, corals and shells. She loves the contrast between the rough texture, colour of the clay and the glossy colors, especially the sea water on the white sand and rocks. They met in Italy with a common love for jewelry, design and contemporary art. Gioia and Ivano opened their first Italian studio in 2011 in a small town in the quiet area between Umbria and Tuscany. In 2015 they moved to Malta. They recently took part to the Miss World Malta evening show as sponsors of Rosita Silk, with a collection of jewellery created especially for her great caftans. Art and design are their fuel but the sense of nature is also part of their creations through the rough and dull surfaces and the irregular edges of their pieces. They believe that beauty have to be an easy part of people's lives, friendly and available for the ones who search for it. At JAD they create uncommon, beautiful jewelry easy to use and wear. Their pieces have a strong link to the natural materials they are made from and are inspired by the sunny nature of Maltese Islands, with touches of contemporary art and Italian design using old, traditional, artisan methods and tools.
