Programme: Original works by Johann Strauss School of Music students Mussorgsky - Pictures at an Exhibition (arr. by Ravel) Children love to live in a world of dreams, brimming with imagination, colourful stories and magical sounds. This is what underlies the great success of our annual Family Fanfare Concerts. In 1897, Modest Mussorgsky composed a musical depiction of an exhibition of paintings by painter Viktor Hartmann, and this year, students from the Johann Strauss School of Music are composing their own musical soundscapes based on emotive pictures. The orchestral performances of these compositions will bring these pictures to life and our young audiences are invited to join us on this magical journey that inhabits the enchanting world of stories, pictures and sounds.
