Little Red Riding Hood - The Adult Panto...in Summer!

If you thought pantomime was a Christmas show for the kiddies, think again!

This year’s adult panto offering is Little Red Riding Hood. Produced by Michael Fenech (the brains behind the Bla Kondixin satirical show) and featuring Malta's top comedy talent, including Joe Depasquale, Joseph Zammit, Larissa Bonaci, Taryn Mamo Cefai, Malcolm Galea as the out-of-control dame, and, of course, Steve Hili, the show promises to be a madcap adventure! From Acapulco to Panama via the Azure Window, the show will feature a genie-of-the-naughty-bits and a Prime Minister brought back from the dead… It’s not for the faint-hearted!

The Adult Panto in summer is widely accepted as the maddest show of in Malta, and now in its fourth edition, it continues to subvert the rules of genre, turning everything on its head. It is naughty instead of nice, it is for grown-ups instead of kiddies, and it is in summer rather than in winter because… Why not?

And the team behind the show is taking it up a notch yet again this year, going so far as to change venue in order to ‘take the satire as close to the seat of power as possible!’

Writer and director Steve Hili, now a professional comedian in the UK, explains: “Every year we hope the Prime Minister will turn up, but he never does! So, with the election getting ever closer, we have decided to go to him. With the show at Spazju Kreattiv, Dr Muscat and all the other MPs in Parliament are now literally just a few metres away from the naughtiest slice of political satire they can see in 2017. Who knows? It might even influence their electoral programmes!”
